Because the Bengal cat has wild origins, breeders have always taken great care to select the gentlest and most human-friendly kittens for breeding. Today, hybridization is no longer necessary, and the breed is well-established. Although active, the Bengal retains only its coat and athletic build from its wild past. Endowed with exceptional intelligence, it is a curious, confident, and friendly cat, a blend of strength, agility, balance, and grace. Uniquely, its gentleness and ability to live alongside humans are still enshrined in its breed standard.
